Stove Top Preparation Directions: (1) In medium (2-qt.) saucepan, bring 2 cups water and dash salt (optional) to a boil. (2) Stir in 1 cup barley. Reduce heat; cover. (3) Simmer 10 to 12 minutes or until tender. (4) Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes. About 3 cups.
