Cooking instructions

Using a digital thermometer, cook to internal temperature at 180 degrees F to ensure fully cooked chicken. Cooking Instructions (appliances vary. Cooking times approximate. Adjust accordingly to ensure internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F): Conventional Oven: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove neck and giblets. 2. Sprinkle chicken inside and out with salt and pepper to taste. Check the bird alert thermometer to see that it is completely inserted. Place chicken, breast side up, on rack in roasting pan. Stuff is desired (add 20 to 30 minutes cooking time for stuffed roaster). Tie legs together. Roaster Weight: 5 to 6 lbs; 6 to 7 lbs. Approximate Cooking Time: 1-3/4 to 2-1/4 hours; 2 to 2-1/2 hours. 3. Remove roaster from oven and discard thermometer. Allow your roaster to stand 10 to 15 minutes for easy carving. Keep refrigerated.
