Recommended Thawing (Defrosting) Method. Do not open bag until turkey is defrosted. Keep turkey cold. Do not thaw at room temperature. Place on tray in refrigerator for time showing in chart below based on weight. This turkey is brined for your convenience. For additional brining, reduce the salt in your recipe by half. Quick-Thaw Method. If you need to thaw your turkey more quickly. Submerge your turkey in its original packaging, breast-side down in cold water. Make sure the bag is not punctured. Change cold water every 30 minutes, allowing approximately 30 minutes per pound. Preparation. Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees. Remove thawed turkey from bag. Remove the giblet package underneath the neck skin area. Place giblets in the refrigerator to use later for gravy stock or stuffing if desired. To remove legs from clamp, press each leg down and push it in toward the cavity, one at a time. Keep the clamp for use during roasting. It is made of nylon and safe for use up o 500 degrees. Remove neck from body cavity. Place neck in the refrigerator with giblets to use later for gravy stock or stuffing if desired. Re-tuck legs into clamp. Clamp will not melt while cooking at temperature below 500 degrees. Your turkey is now ready to cook. Roasting. Place whole turkey breast side up on a roasting rack inside a shallow roasting pan. Brush turkey with melted butter, vegetable oil, and season as desired. Roast at 325 degrees according to the estimated roasting chart. Start checking the pop-up timer 1 hour before turkey is due to be done. If turkey becomes golden-brown before is fully cooked, cover with a loose tent of aluminum foil to prevent over-browning. Cut a hole in the foil to view the pop-up timer. Turkey is done when the pop-up timer has popped, and a meat thermometer, not touching any bone registers at least 165 degrees in the deepest part of the breast and thickest part of the inner-thigh. Remove from oven and allow the cooked turkey to stand for 20 to 30 minutes. This allows the juices to settle and makes carving easier. Other Cooking Methods & Additional Tips. We recommend conventional oven roasting, but your Frozen Honest Turkey Whole Turkey is also delicious when grilled. Follow your grill manufacturer's instructions for grilling directions and cooking times. Microwaving is not recommended. Refrigerator Thawing Time 4-5 days, Roasting Time at 325 degrees 4 1/4-4 1/2 hours. Weight 20-24 lbs., Refrigerator Thawing Time 5-6 days, Roasting Time at 325 degrees 4 1/2-5 hours. Weight 24-30 lbs. Refrigerator Thawing Time 6-7 days, Roasting Time at 325 degrees 5-5 1/4 hours.
