Cooking instructions

All appliances vary, the following are guidelines only. Remove all packaging. Heat 15ml of oil to a high heat and brown the joint on all sides, add seasonal vegetables of your choice and transfer to a heatproof casserole dish. Pour over 150ml of stock, water or wine and season to taste. Cover and cook on the middle shelf of a pre-heated oven (160degC Fan/180degC Electric/Gas mark 4) for 30-40 minutes per 500g plus 35 mins. Remove string before carving. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Ensure the product is thoroughly cooked and piping hot throughout. Do not reheat. RECIPE IDEA DIRECTIONS 1. Remove joint from packaging and allows to breathe at room temperature for up to 30mins. Preheat oven to 160degC Fan/180degC Electric/Gas mark 4. 2. Mix some barbecue sauce, soy sauce, and water or beef stock. 3. Coat the beef brisket all over with sauce or stock. 4. Put the brisket in a roasting dish, coat in oil and season well. Cover with foil. 5. Place the roasting dish into a pre-heated oven for 30-40 minutes per 500g +35 minutes. For the last 35 minutes of cooking, remove the foil. 750g Joint = 1 hour and 20 minutes (45 minutes covered, last 35 mins uncovered). 1kg Joint = 1 hour and 20 minutes and 45 minutes(1 hour and 10 minutes covered, last 35 minutes uncovered). 1.3kg Joint = 2 hours and 25 mins covered, last 35 minutes uncovered) 6. Once cooked, remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving. Remove strings before carving.

Storage instructions

Keep refrigerated below 5degC at the bottom of the fridge. Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within 24 hours and by date shown. Suitable for freezing. Freeze by date mark shown and use within one month. Defrost thoroughly at the bottom of the fridge before use and use within 24 hours. Never defrost in a warm room. Do not refreeze once defrosted.
