Cooking Instructions - General. Pre-cookingRinse rice thoroughly and soak for 30 minutesFor best resultsWhile cooking, add salt and few drops of butter or cooking oil to taste (optional)Always cook rice in wide base cooking pan to allow rice maximum space to expandDon't cook large quantities of rice in a small pan; Hob - From Ambient. Open panTake 5 cups of water for one cup of rice. Bring water to a rolling boil. Add the rice, lower to a medium boil and cook uncovered for 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse with normal water.Covered panTake 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Add rice and bring water to boil. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or till rice is done.Turn off the heat and allow the rice to stand covered for 5 minutes.; Microwave - From Ambient. Take 2 cups of water for one cup of rice. In a microwave proof bowl, cook covered for 12-15 minutes, then allow the rice to stand for 5 minutes.
